High-performance, standards-compliant, HF and VHF/UHF data modems for strategic, naval and commercial platforms.
The RM Product Family is engineered for users who require high-performance best-in-class products that fully comply with the current standards for satellite independent beyond line-of-sight (BLOS) strategic, maritime, narrowband and wideband HF and VHF/UHF data communications. The RM products provide excellent environmental specifications with respect to temperature, shock, vibration and MTBF.
The family includes HF and VHF/UHF data modems (conforming to MIL-STD-188-110A, MIL-STD-188-110B, MIL-STD-188-110C – wideband HF, STANAG 5069, 4285, 5065, 4529, 4415, 4539 and 4691), Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) functions for 2G ALE (conforming to MIL-STD-188-141A, MIL-STD-188-141B and MIL-STD-188-141C), Automatic Link Establishment (ALE) functions for 3G ALE (conforming to STANAG 4538 FLSU) and 3G Packet Data Modems (conforming to STANAG 4538 xDL). The RM family modems provide data services in satellite-denied environments.
Products in the RM Family forms part of the Naval and Strategic and the Governmental and Security divisions.

Products at a glance
RM12 Wideband SDM & ALE – 48 kHz

The RM12 Wideband SDM & ALE is a data modem designed for beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) data communications in wideband HF channels. Building on the success of the RM10, it supports bandwidths of 3 to 48 kHz, enabling reliable radio links over vast distances. Ideal for navies, coast guards, and strategic organisations, the RM12 is a critical tool for for transcontinental, transoceanic, and maritime operations—even in satellite-denied environments.
RM10 Wideband SDM & ALE – 24 kHz

The RM10 HF Modem & ALE – 24kHz follows in the footsteps of the RM8 offering MIL-STD-188-110C (24 kHz, 120 kbps) waveform and the 4G ALE (WALE) capability – software option. The RM10’s small size, shock and vibration tolerance, low power consumption and high-temperature range is aimed at integration into crowded cabinets. With WBHF spectrum at a premium, this modem affords system integrators a price-competitive entry into the WBHF arena.
RM8 Software Defined Modem & ALE – 3, 6 kHz

The aim at RapidM with the RM8 was to become the global benchmark for the 3G ALE/STANAG 4538 standard. This unit finds service in many HF systems including NATO BRASS and BRE1TA split-site shore stations. The code base in this unit is embedded in numerous high-power HF transceivers. These ½ of 1U format products are also available as quad versions to save space in the cabinet.
RM6-A Data Modem & ALE Controller

The RM6-A is a high data rate LF and HF data modem and ALE controller for standards-based BLOS naval and strategic data communications. The RM6-A supports MIL-STD-188-110A/B, STANAG 4539 and related modems and MIL-STD-188-141, App A (2G ALE) and App B (Linking Protection). The RM6-A is a replacement of the RM6 modem and it is recommended for new systems.
RM5 Rugged High-Speed Modem

The RM5 is a MIL-STD-188-110A/B HF data modem with a rugged, field-hardened enclosure. The modem is created with disaster relief agencies in mind. These agencies often need standardised interoperability in harsh and unpredictable environments. The unit also fits well with military and paramilitary organisations.
RM2 HF & V/UHF Data Modem

The RM2 was designed for governmental agencies and NGO’s requiring standards-compliant HF email service. This compact modem offers BLOS HF data modem and 2G ALE capacities, and a VHF data modem for faster email delivery over LOS VHF channels.
